Rancho Cordova, CA, USA – 8 June 2011 – Visualization pioneer Barco, working with DPW Live, an audio/visual event design and production company, supplied eight HD20 event projectors to present WOC's uniquely inspirational message on a 350' x 32' panoramic screen. The approximately eight-minute show utilized the projectors in such a way that each architectural element – from the building's columns to its curtained windows – was mapped to create a continuous, edge-blended video presentation depicting Pastor Allen Jackson's 2011 vision for the church. Entitled “Seen and Unseen,” the show was designed to illustrate the concept of divine intervention and reinforce the pastor's annual message, while generating awareness of WOC during the church's peak attendance season.
“Our goal was to impact the congregation with unexpected visuals and audio. Additional benefits were engaging the audience in a spiritually moving storyline which complemented our theme. The quality of the presentation really generated a buzz in the community,” said Travis Walker, Project Lead for WOC. “The HD20s were essential to creating the immersive quality of the experience, especially the underwater segment, where their phenomenal image clarity and brightness were critical. Barco's software also enabled us to lamp on and off via a wireless network, making it easy to discreetly control the projectors in between segments.”
Danny Whetstone, Chief Projectionist for the show and DWP Live's founder/owner, agreed: “When we need to accomplish the highest lumens with the fewest projectors for a large space, we turn to Barco. The HD20s are perfect for our needs, with their high brightness and dependability. We use them frequently in our shows and have been a big fan for a long time…we've built our inventory around them as our workhorse projector.”
Barco's FLM HD20 is a native HD 20,000 lumens three-chip DLP® projector designed for large venues, delivering extra brightness and high contrast to show clear, crisp images in a luminous environment. Extremely quiet, easy to use and maintain, the HD20 ensures consistently high image quality over a long time, thanks to fully sealed optics and extended lamp life.
“Our large event HD projectors are purpose-built to deliver brilliant colors, superior brightness and special effects that create a truly immersive experience,” commented Todd Hoddick, VP Entertainment for Barco North America. “We see the House of Worship market as a growing opportunity for Barco, and encourage these venues to take advantage of the tremendous and affordable technologies available to elevate their spiritual messaging to the next level of creativity and impact.”
